Sephora Nail Files

After having that fantastic manicure done in Sephora Barcelona, I decided that I should buy those 7" professional nail files. The manicurist in Sephora Barcelona (SB) used this to file down my nails and it seemed really easy to use. Unlike those really thin emory boards - so flimsy and just hate it.

Nails: OPI Espresso Your Style & Tips Zoya Danii

I got this nail file in KL though, didn't think I'd need it until I got back from my trip. However, I'm not very good in shaping my nails yet. I always never able to get it to be square enough, it's already somewhat square-round-ish, if you know what i mean.

There's the shaping side in black and the finish in flourescent orange. It comes in a 2pk. It's around RM16 and I think the price is quite ok considering other cheaper brands also sell this at around the same price. Of course, I'd like to get a really professional brand one but, I'm not a professional manicurist, so yea....

I'll definately be bringing this for when I travel as it's much easier to carry this on-board.

YSL Nail Polish - Colour Unknown

Anyway, I'm was Barcelona just this week and in need of a manicure. I was really desperate as my current manicure looks like crap, it's all chipped and..... ugly.

I went to Depiline Center and found out that I needed a freaking appointment. All they would do for walk-ins now are waxings only....

So they recommended Sephora. Went to the nearest Sephora and got my nails done. I picked a black shimmer by YSL, didn't even have a colour label on it and hope you readers out there could help me. I'm about to remove this polish. Hopefully this is not a limited edition colour though. :(

Sorry for the weared out polish though - pictures were only taken when I got back home 4 days later.

Skincare: Bio Essence Tri-Action Boost Hydra Moisturising Lotion

I bought this quite sometime ago but never got to really use it because when I first tried it out, it feels sticky and disgusting on my face. However, I re-read the instructions and it says to massage the lotion in upon application.

The bottle is actually made of glass, however, I wish they had made this into a pump. It's rather hard to get the content out as it's not liquidy enough. It's a lotion consistency where by a pump or a soft squeeze bottle will be more suitable. I wonder what was the designer thinking when they created this bottle? Silly much?

To get the contect out, I would have to shake rather hard but the amount of lotion coming out from the bottle from 1 shake is good enough for 1 application. Bottle was slightly heavy and not transparent, so we won't know for sure if there is still lotion left as and when.

Application wise, I started doing this: I rub the lotion with my 2 hands, then apply everything onto my face in a massage motion (if this makes sense). Within a few minutes, the lotion gets absorbed and I can't say it felt great but it didn't feel greasy or leave any sticky residue. Lotion smells of green tea - as in Ginvera's green tea range fragrance.

Here is the ingrediants list for anyone who's interested.

Verdict: I've been using this for the past 10 days - only as a night routine though, as I have other creams/lotions to finish up as well. Didn't see much of a difference on my skin - it maintained. I guess I won't be repurchasing.

Should I try out Hada Labo or Laneige next? Since I'm heading to Seoul in March, I might be getting myself some of the core items that I might want to use. But alas, I still need to consult their specialist to know what's good for my skin.

My skin type: combination skin with oily t-zone. I get blackheads on my nose area and also areas near the nose but before the cheeks. I get occasional zits when it's time of the month.

Blush & Bronzer: NYX Blush & Bronzer

I'm a sucker for bronzers and I thought, with the discounts NYX is offering, why not get this and try it out?

And the shade I picked up is BBC01 - Sunrise in Bali. I don't know why I keep getting bronzers that comes with a blush but I hope that I will start buying just bronzers in the future.

The packaging is really nice and sturdy plastic. The surface is smooth and easy to hold. It comes with a sponge, which I threw away because I just don't like using sponges. I prefer to use a brush.

This is how the colour looks in the pan under sunlight. Thankfully there's sunlight today and I get to take a good picture. Notice how the bronzer is so tanned but once you put it on your face - it's not even that dark. The blusher is close to Nars Orgasm/Milani Luminous/NYX Pinched. It's my favourite shade of blusher but sometimes I tend to want to try other colours as well.

This is taken under cool flourescent light. I taped off the blush part because it's too pigmented. And the purpose of getting this product is so I could use the bronzer but also have a slight pink tone to the whole of my face. I got the plastic from the NYX Powder Foundation, cut it into half and taped it with a scotch tape. I feel that it's a brilliant idea as it will stop my brush from picking up the blush pigments.

These 2 swatches are taken under sunlight, but it's on a heavy hand. Notice how shimmer the blush looks? So much more shimmery than Nars Orgasm/Milani Luminous/NYX Pinched.

This swatch is taken under cool flourescent lights.

Overall: I love this product, however, I will not be repurchasing as I think there are much better products than this. I do currently use another blush & bronzer from Milani - which was already discontinued. I prefer the one from Milani though!
